FAQs

  • Payment can be made by credit card, cash, cheque, or e-transfer. Details for how and where these payments can be addressed will be provided at the first visit. Payment is due at the time of treatment.

  • We understand that life happens and schedules need to change from time to time. That being said, we want to ensure that sessions are consistent, as we know that is the most successfully proven factor for goal attainment. We are also holding your scheduled spot at the exclusion of others and want to ensure that we can reschedule for other families needing services in a timely manner. That being said, our cancellation policy is as follows:

    • No charge if the session is cancelled more than 24 hrs before the appointment time

    • Charged 50% if the session is cancelled less than 24 hours before the appointment time

    • Charged 100% if client no shows for an appointment.

    • Alternatively, missed sessions can be used as a parent consult, community consult or home programming at the same scheduled appointment time.

    • If cancellations are recurring your therapist will work with you about finding an alternative session time or determine if therapy is not a good fit at this time

  • Each child is different, and there is no magic number of sessions where we can guarantee your goals will be met. The timing, frequency and duration of sessions recommended for your child will be discussed during the parent consult portion of the intake.

It is typically recommended to book a block of 6-8 sessions (weekly or biweekly) for optimal goal attainment, communication and collaboration. Following the first block we recommend booking a parent session or using part of your child’s session to discuss progress on your child’s goals and re-establish how many sessions should be booked moving forward.

  • We try our best to provide some after school/weekend options as many families prefer these times to missing school and rearranging work commitments. It is most likely that you will be offered a daytime slot to start with an option to move to an after school/weekend spot once one becomes available. Alternatively, you can be put on an after school/weekend waitlist. However, please note that the wait time for these spots is currently 4-6 months.

  • OT services may be covered by personal healthcare insurance. It is the responsibility of the client/guardian to check with their insurance company to determine if “Occupational Therapy” is covered. The client/guardian is responsible for all the costs associated with OT services regardless of insurance reimbursement.

Payment is due at the time of treatment. Receipts will be issued at the time of service delivery, and clients will submit them to their insurance provider.

  • Yes, OAP funding can be used for OT services!
